I'm Back!

With another Wild Flower Wednesday Challenge!  Today's challenge is all about the colors LIME, BLACK and VIOLET...I was kinda skeptical of this one.  I like this combo for Halloween but, wasn't sure if it would work for a summer card.  Well, Guess what??  I was pleasantly surprised.

I used the fun new image Beach Ivy.
The papers are a mixture of Jillibean and K&Co.I colored the image with Copics.
Hair: E09, E15 & E13
Skin: E000, E00 & YR00
Hat, shoes and swimsuit: V01, V15, YG13 & YG17
Bag & Sunglasses: W3, W5 & W7

Inside of the card.
Hope you have enjoyed the card I created with this weeks color challenge.  Be sure to stop by The Wild Flower Blog for a look at the rest of the Design teams creations.

QKR Stampede

Happy Friday!  Today I have a few cards I created with some QKR Stampede stamps.  The first one is with a silly kitty named "swimming Kitty". He can be found in the QKR Stampede store.
I really like his silly grin.

Next I created a card in the spirit of the upcoming 4th of July holiday.  I knew when i saw this butterfly stamp that I would have to have it!  It is "Patriotic butterfly".

I used some rhinestones to add some glitz to the card.

The inside.

That is all I have today to share.  I hope you have enjoyed looking at my projects.
Have a great Weekend!  JennK

Blog Hopping with......

The Wild Flower Kids!!  WooHOO!!
Today Wild Flower Kids is releasing their new June images!  As you have might have seen from yesterday's preview,  Jen Shults has created the most gorgeous summer digital images that include Beach Ivy, Sandcastle Violet, Surfer Reed and something special for those of you who are shivering on the otherside of the world... Winter Dahlia.

Jen is also releasing some very special digital images to celebrate the release of  The new Twilight movie Eclipse. The Edward and Bella images that are a part of her "Twilight" collection! So if you are a Twilight fan like me you know you will have to get these!
If you want to start from the beginning, just head over to the Wild Flower Kids Challenge Blog  As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stamper will win the entire new digital release!!  And when you're done hoppin', be sure to head over to the Wild Flower Patch Store, because ALL the new images are NOW available.
Now onto my projects.  Not only are we hopping along and sharing the new release today but, we are also starting a new challenge today too!  This weeks challenge is to use a fancy fold for your card.  Something other than the "standard" card folds.  To create my challenge project I used the *new* Surfer Reed!  Love these little boys!

I really like this fold.  And you can make this card any size you like.  There are no rules or measurements for this one.  If you are wondering what the measurements are for this card are, the overall card measures 5 1/2" X 5 1/2".  The smaller folded card measures 3 1/2" X 4 1/2".

Here it is all opened up.  The birthday sentiment is a Wild Flower digital stamp also!

And because yesterday I was having technical issues with my beloved technology I was not able to share my preview project with you Yesterday.  I have it for you today though.  I used the new Bella image.  She is so much fun to work with and could be used for many things. Not just for a Twilight lover like me.

Isn't she WONDERFUL?!

Alright well it is time now to continue on with the HOP.  The next gal you will be visiting is the lovely and talented Leigh Ann!!
Thanks for hopping along with us today.  Happy craftin'!, JennK

Hello Monday..

I hope you had a wonderful Fathers Day weekend.  Our weekend was pretty busy.  We saw Toys Story 3 on Friday, my little one turned 4 on Sat. then Fathers Day on Sunday.....I think I need a weekend from my weekend..HAHA!

I did manage to squeeze in a little scrappy time and managed to put this layout together.  I am loving this orbit collection by Crate paper right now.  I used up the very last bit of paper I had in this collection *sniffle, sniffle*  But on the bright side now I can go get some of the new papers they have released.  I wanna get my hands on the  Seasons collection or even the Brook collection.  and ya know my list will grow once the new stuff comes out after CHA.  What's a paper lover to do? *smiles*

This is all Crate paper orbit collection with the exception of the Thickers letter stickers and the little (made by me) baseball brads.

And another from a little while back using this fun collection.

Here I did a little hand stitching.

This layout I used some of the rub-ons.

While I am on the subject of these great Crate paper collections...Did ya know they are currently looking for a few lucky people to join their new dt?  Yup!  You are reading this right...Crate paper is holding a DT Call NOW!  So check it out HERE!!  I for one think this is really exciting news.  I can't wait to see who all the new designers are...maybe one of them will be you!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have fun craftin'!  JennK

Happy Fathers Day

I want to wish all the dads a very Happy Fathers Day!  I hope it is a special day filled with lots of love and Hugs!

A few quotes I found to share with you.

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.  ~Clarence Budington Kelland

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard.  Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass."  "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply.  "We're raising boys."  ~Harmon Killebrew

A father carries pictures where his money used to be.  ~Author Unknown

Making the decision to have a child is momentous.  It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.  ~Elizabeth Stone

Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat.  Then fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher's mound.  Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together.  Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again.  ~Jimmy Piersal, on how to diaper a baby, 1968

Happy day!  JennK

TGIF!!  It has been a pretty crazy week.  I think I am busier now with the kids on summer break then when they are in school...HA!!  I wanted to share a card I made for Fathers Day.  I used a super FUN stamp from QKR Stampede.  If you haven't already been over to take a look, you gotta see all the cool stamps they offer!!  There is a HUGE selection of stamps!  Seriously!  So check out the store HERE.

Alright so onto the card I created.  Like I said I used a stamp by QKR Stampede.  The stamp is named Enjoying the sun.  It is really perfect for this card.
I used some summer papers from DCWV.  I colored this cutie with Copics.  Used some nesties to cut out the image and a mat.  The relax stamp is from Unity.

I finished the inside too.

Isn't this fun?!  I hope the recipient thinks so.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by today.  JennK

Scrapbooking with the Pink Elephant

Have you heard?!!  The Pink Elephant is doing Scrapbook challenges now!!  We have been bringing you some fun, fantastic challenges for the scrapbook Queens/Kings out there in cyberspace.  If you haven't been by to check it out now is the time!  We have a great sketch for you this week.
I am not sure how I came up with my layout this week.  I was truly inspired by the sketch but, I am not sure if you can tell that or not....hmmmm.  Do you ever start out with one thing in your mind but somewhere along the way things start to go their own way?  Well, I think that is what happened to me..LOL!!

I have a funny story behind these pictures too.  First I gotta tell you this was a great day, complete with me falling out of my folding chair and almost into the lake.  I can laugh about it...It really was funny and I am sure a sight to see!  But that is not the story I am sharing today.

So the boys were out fishing with dad aka POPS and they both were really doing well.  Both were catching lots of fish.  Zak (littlest boy) was doing so well holding his pole and reeling them in when......he got a bite on his line.  We all thought he just had a pretty good size fish this time.  Pops had to help him out a little and when we finally got the "catch" up out of the water what we saw was CRAZY!!  He had not only caught a fish but a fish with a SNAKE hanging onto it! I am not sure whathappened first.  The snake had the fish and the fish also went for a bite to eat (not likely right?!).  Or the fish was hooked and the snake was in the mood take out! HA!  Either way I tried so hard to snap a shot but when I was finally snapped out of amazement and grabbed the camera to take a shot the snake let go! GRRRR!  Oh well, it is a great memory I am sure we will not forget.

Here are the details of this layout. The papers I used for are from Cosmo Cricket (Earth Love).  I also used a Unity stamp for the sun and some machine stitching.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and story today.  Be sure to take a look over on The PinkElephant for some more great layouts and Join us for some fun too!

Happy Craftin'! JennK

Buttons

Welcome to a confession of a button addict.  Today I thought I would sort through my pile of buttons....while going through them by color I have come to the conclusion that i do have a button problem...HAHAHAAA!!  Add that to my paper and ribbon problem.....*BIG GRIN*!

It was really interesting to see how many buttons of each color I actually have and how many variations of one color there can be....really!  I got them all sorted and into baggies for now *sigh*  I discovered that I am gonna need at least 9 different containers for all the different colors and types.  Any suggestions?  They will have to be fairly large....not huge....but...well ya know.  Alright this button lover is off to tackle a few more projects.  Be sure to stop by Wednesday for a new challenge sketch from the Wild Flower Patch.

Thanks for stopping by, JennK

Scrapbook Thursday

Hello!  From this day on my week usually slides by so fast that before I know it it's Monday again!  Today I have a layout to share with you.  The challenge over on The Pink Elephant this week is to use a black and white photo along with any color combo for papers.  I decided on this B&W photo of my little boy...I just love the wonder in his eyes.

The papers are from We R Memory keepers. I used them along side some rub-ons by crate paper.

I am just lovin' this quote!  So Perfect and so true!

Here you can see some of the cute little alien rub ons I used and a few other embellishments.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout today.  Be sure to head on over to The Pink Elephant for some more inspiration and to enter your page.

Coming soon...A CSN stores review

I was recently contacted by a representative from CSN stores promotional team and they asked me to do a product review. After some research and browsing their site I found out that they carry tons of items.  Anything from great shoes to lights for your house.  I am not sure what I am going to review yet..it is such a tough decision.  I mean they have tons of stuff to pick from!  But I will make a decision soon...so be on the lookout for my review.
Have a great day!!, JennK

Wildflower Wednesday

It is time for another wonderful challenge on The Wild Flower blog!!  This week it is a recipe challenge.  All you have to do is include circles, stitching and stripes on your project and you are in.  Here is what I created..

I used the Butterfly digi stamp on my card.  This time I watercolored the image!!  GASP!!  I know, I didn't use my beloved Copics!!  Well, I thought I would change things up a bit...don't get me wrong I still LOVE my Copic markers but, I enjoy other ways to add color to a stamp...*grins*.

I added some colored twine under the image and a few of those fun Dew drops in blue..even though they look clear on the card.

The inside of the card.
I hope you join in the challenge this week.  I love seeing everyone's creations. Have a great day!, JennK

Mission 4 Macie

Hello!  I want to take a moment to share a special story about a very special little girl Macie.  She has been diagnosed with a very rare disorder called GLUT1.

What is Glut1?

Glut1 Transporter Deficiency Syndrome is a little known genetic condition that was identified by Dr. Darryl De Vivo in 1991. In Glut1 ds patients, the Glucose Transporter Type 1, which is responsible for carrying glucose across the blood-brain barrier, is defective and leaves the brain starving for the energy it needs to grow and develop.  Since glucose is the primary energy source for the brain, all areas of development are affected in some way - in varying degrees among patients.

For now, the best treatment option for Glut1 ds is the ketogenic diet, which provides the body and brain with an alternate source of energy - ketone bodies.  Ketone bodies do not replace glucose in every way, and individuals treated with the diet still experience some degrees of neurological, mental and physical difficulties but, at the present time, they are the best alternative. In Glut1 ds, the ketogenic diet should be introduced as early as possible to meet the energy demands of the developing brain and should be maintained into puberty.

Speech and handwriting are often areas where these children struggle. Most will require some form of PT, OT and speech/language therapy. Unfortunately, many patients have sought answers for years before getting a proper Glut1 ds diagnosis.  It is likely that more Glut1 ds cases exist, but simply have not been properly diagnosed. Few medical professionals are aware of the condition, and those who are, may never have diagnosed a case.

If you would like to know how this sweet and brave little girl and her family are helping and how you can help,  visit my sweet friend Lori Boyds blog HERE.

Hugs, JennK

Scrapbooking with the Pink Elephant

Hello, today I have a new sketch to share with you from The Pink Elephant.  This sketch was created by our very talented Lori Boyd.

Here is what I came up with.

I gotta admit, for some reason I was really struggling with this layout.  I LOVE the sketch and the pictures...it just wasn't coming together easily.  Have you ever had one of those days??  I am still not 100% satisfied with this layout.  I may have to come back to it later and add something, or start over even...LOL!

Here are a few close up shots of the ribbon I used and the title with rub-ons.

I hope you can join us this week.  The sketch is really great, and there is a lot of inspiration on The Pink Elephant blog.....if ya need it.

Happy Craftin'!, JennK

Wild Flower Wednesday

Hello!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  The Monday holidays get the rest of my week all wacky....does that happen to you?  Well, it is already Wednesday which means it is time for another fabulous challenge over on the Wild Flower kids.  This week the challenge is all about boxing it up.  You can create a basket or a box of your choice, decorate it and link it up to the Wild flower patch site.  I chose to create a little gift box for my sons upcoming birthday.
I used the No girls allowed rubber stamp set.  This is such a cute set!  Perfect for my 2 boys.

So have some fun boxing up some fun and share it with us on The Wild Flower Patch!

Happy days, JennK
