Blast from the past Blog Hop

Hello friends! It is time for the Taylored Expressions blast from the past blog hop! I hope you are joining me from Kimberly's BLOG.  If not you might want to start off at the Taylored Expressions Blog so you see all the great creations on todays blog hop.  You can see a complete list of all the blogs at the bottom of this post.

This month we are GOING GREEN!  And if you are in need of a little creative boost check out this great sketch!

I used this sketch as a jumping off point for altering this little composition book.
Sorry for the yucky picture....

This little book transformed to this..
I used the Boys will be Boys stamp set.  This set is so much fun!  Sticking with the GREEN theme I used some papers from Basic Grey that had some green in them and were also masculine.  I colored the ties with Copics in Y11, G14 and B04. I also distressed the edges with some black ink.

Here is the inside of the book.  This sweet sentiment is also from the Boys will be Boys stamp set.  I used Distress inks in Broken china and Shabby Shutters to cover the page, then I stamped the sentiment on top using black Momento ink.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today.  Be sure to visit all the blogs today, for lot's of inspiration!!
Happy Craftin'!

Oh, I hope you all have had some nice weather this week like we have.  It has been so nice to air out the house and get outside without freezing.  All of this warmer weather has my bulbs starting to emerge and has me wanting to create some spring inspired projects.

Today I want to share a card I created using paint colors SUNSHINE & ROSE QUARTZ.  LOVE them both!!  and Sunshine...well, it does just that and brings a giant ray of sunshine to your project..who wouldn't love that?!!

I used some acrylic to create the little tag, then I painted on some rose quartz along the edges.  I love how it helps define the tag and adds some sparkle.  The little chick I colored with Copics then painted on the sunshine paint.  Now he/she is a all ready to chirp all about our spring weather.
I distressed the edges of the papers and stitched a little.  Added some ribbon (Martha Stewart), a flower (Paper Studio), button (Basic Grey) and a little bling (K&Co).  The stamp chick and tag are by We R Memory Keepers and the Happy Spring is by Darcies.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hello Friends!  Did you have a great Valentine's yesterday?  The boys brought me flowers and some chocolates YUM!  Then hubby and I had a nice steak dinner (by chef Jenn).  Picked out a new red wine...blech, I didn't like it.  But it was great to cook with.  I also got a surprise Giraffe from hubby!  He knows how I love em'!

 Flowers from the boys

Flowers from Hubby

I also managed to finish up a mini album of some random pictures of the boys.  I used older and new Sassafrass papers and a few acrylic pages too.

Here is what the album looks like on the front.

I love all the little windows, allowing you to peek through to the next page.

And the end of the book.  I just LOVE these funny little monsters!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a great day!

Snow again!!

Hello friends.  Today around my area we are being blasted with another snow storm...makes me wonder if all those silly groundhogs were right about spring.  HEHEHE!!  I hope they were because as I am sure you know already, I am ready for SPRING!!  So while the snow is blowing today I will be trying to stay warm while making some yummy projects.

I do have a few things to share today.  I have still been working on some love notes for a few people.......

First I altered a bag that had some buttons in it.  I used some of the new Sassafras Lass paper and stickers that I got inside my Noel Mignon kit.

Inside are a few yummy cinnamon lollipops.

Next up is a little bag of treats I created for my sons teacher aides.
The stamps are from Unity.  I colored the sweet ladybug image with Copics.

And here is what it looks like right now outside my door.....

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day,

First Friday...

Hello friends!  I am happy to be back with another card I created using these lovely paints.  Today I am inspired by great friends.  I was thinking the other day how nice it is to have a good friend..or two.  So I decided to make a "Just because" type of card for a friend.

I wanted a "spot" of color so I painted a little Light purple Creative Inspirations paint onto my embossing folder.  Then embossed my white cardstock.  I love the effect!

I created the flower with a heart punch.  The stem is cut using a die from sizzix.  I also added a little bit of the Light purple paint to the edges of the card.
And the inside...a few hearts.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Glad you could stop by.

All I know is...

Today, February 2 Phil comes out of his burrow on Gobbler's Knob - in front of thousands of followers from all over the world - to predict the weather for the rest of winter.

According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.

So here's hoping he does NOT see his shadow!!  I have had enough of winter...heheheeeee!!

Alright so I have caught the Valentine bug and so I have another project to share.
I altered a container that used to hold some Crystal light.  Now it holds some Yummy CANDY!!

I used some We R Memory Keeps valentine papers, a little bit of Liquid Pearls on the apple, a button from my stash, another one of those paper Wilton hearts and some ribbon by American Crafts.

I love how SWEET this turned out!  It was super fun to make too.

Have you caught the Valentine bug??  Are you making any special projects for the day of LOVE??

I am off to make a few more cards and who knows what else I may come up with....

Thanks for stopping by today.

Feb 1st

What a way to start out Feb!  Winter is here today in all it's blizzrdy, frigid glory...I so want SPRING!! Today we top out at a high of 6 degrees....oh wait but add in the near 50 MPH wind gusts and now it really feels like-20 outside!  SAY WHAT?!!  Since when did I move to the arctic?!!  On the most wonderful side, I can say I am so THANKFUL for my warm house and yummy craft supplies to take my mind off of the blizzard outside.

I think it looks so cool when the snow drifts into these waves of powdered winter fun.

And now on to some crafty fun.  I created this card while safely hanging out with the kids in our warm home.
Love the texture!

I created this card by first drawing out a heart in pencil on some white cardstock.  Next I punched holes around the drawing and erased the pencil lines.  Then all you have to do now is stitch with some embroidery thread around all the holes.  I added some letter stickers by My Little Shoebox to spell out LOVE.  Attached it to a piece of We R Memory Keepers paper with that yummy trim between.  All of this is attached to a deep red cardstock card base.

So how did you spend your 1st day of February? Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Craftin'!
