Winter in JULY??

What?  For those of us in the states most of us are not thinking of winter right now.  We are still enjoying the last few summer days left till the leaves begin to turn and the winter settles in.  But, I just got some of the cutest Winter/Christmas stamps from QKR Stampede and I couldn't resist inking them up.  For starters I LOVE Snowmen!  Yes, I have a thing for them...heheee.  Who couldn't resist these cuties?  Also, we could use a little cooling off right about now.
A little closer

Aren't these two of the sweetest snowmen ever?!  The first stamp is called Catching Snowflakes.  I just adore this snowman's jovial expression.  The second image is called Winter Friends. Looks like a great snow friend to me.   I hope you have enjoyed a little cooling while reading this post and have enjoyed my cards today.

Lace and Sparkle..

Let your girly side run wild this week with The Wild Flower Kids!!  Todays challenge is all about LACE and SPARKLE...YUM!  Check out what I made with this weeks theme.
I know you might be taking a minute to check the date of this post...but why not cool down a bit today and see what winter has in store for us.  This is one of the NEW digital images that Jen has created.  It is called Winter Dahlia.  She is SWEET as can be.  I used Copics to color her.  Cosmo Cricket papers.  Polka dot frame by Spellbinders.  And I created my own snowflake embellishment with some chipboard, glitter, ribbon, button, and rhinestone.

Close up of the sparkly snowflake.

And the inside.  The decorative edge was created using the small frame in Spellbinders polka dot frame set. Papers are by Cosmo Cricket.  Have fun with this weeks theme.

Scrap Time!

Happy Thursday and another challenge over on The Pink Elephant!!  This week we used a color theme and a sketch.  The colors are PINK, GREEN and BLACK.  So I am sure you know that any time we do PINK in a color scheme I have just a few options that first come to mind...and they usually don't make me think of baseball pictures of my boys or playing in the dirt.  But this time I thought...WHY not a boys page?  After all Pink can be in many shades and I for one have seen many men wear this wonderful color!  So I got to looking through some pictures I need to get in layouts and LOOK what I came across!  I think it is just perfect!  What do you think?
I absolutely LOVE this picture of our son!  It captures him so well.

I used some left over paper and embellishments from this Scenic Route collection called Garden Grove.  I have to say that this has turned out to be one of my all time favorite collections by this company.

Have you seen the rest of the dt samples on The Pink Elephant blog yet?  If not I would recommend a peek. And why not join in the fun too?
Thanks so much for stopping by and I love to hear your thoughts on my projects.
Have fun craftin'!  JennK

Getting Sketchy with the Wild Flower Kids!!

It is Wednesday and time for another challenge on The Wild Flower Blog.  After getting our Grunge on last week, this week we are sketching it out!  Take a look at the Fabulous sketch done up by Leigh Ann
It is Rockin'!!  Right?!  To use this sketch I decided to play with the new image Edward!  Yeah BABY!  This is such a great digi stamp whether you are into the Twilight Series or not (Definitely a Fan here!!)  TEAM EDWARD!!  Okay that is all I am gonna say about that.  Onto some crafty fun.

So I Grunged it up a bit this time too.  I couldn't help myself.  I saw the Glimmer Mist just waiting, Begging me to use it and before ya know it....Well you can see for yourself.

I even added some sparkle to his eyes.

So as for the supplies used.  I used some left over scraps of different papers, the embossing behind Edward is done using the Allegro Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I Glimmer misted the Blue embossed paper with Electric Blue. I also used some mist along the edges of the card in Viva Pink.  Edward is colored in using Copics.  And if you are lovin' this image look for him HERE!!  I hope you have enjoyed my card.  Hop onto the Wild Flower Blog to see what the rest of the DT did with this sketch.
Happy Craftin'!  JennK

Grunge it up

Today over on The Wild Flower Patch we are all getting into the distressed/grunge look.  So I tapped into my inner Holtz and dove right into the challenge.  I really enjoy distressing my card.  I actually ended up tapping a little more into my inner Burton too.  When I was all done this is what I had made.
I really enjoy using different colors for hair and I thought this new Alice digital stamp would be great. Be sure to take a peek at the rest of the distressing the dt did at The Wild Flower Patch Blog.

Have fun craftin', JennK

Pink Scraps with The Pink Elephant

Hello!  Today I have a great sketch to share with you from The Pink Elephant.  This sketch was created by our very talented Lori Boyd!
Do you love it?!  Are you inspired?  Well then join us on The Pink Elephant for this weeks challenge.  Use this sketch as your inspiration and the Colors Red, White and Blue.  You don't have to create a patriotic layout, Anything goes.  I chose to create a page that is all about the fun of Fireworks.  At least for my boys...With the exception of our little one.  He still just doesn't like the noise and fire associated with these Explosive creations.

I hope to see you over at The Pink Elephant.  Hugs, JennK
