Wild Wednesday

So I was up trying to get my blog post all ready for today when my computer decided to stop working for me.  UH! Electronics!  They sure can be a nuisance!  So here I am trying to get this post done on my husbands laptop.  It is harder than I would think when I don't have any of my software loaded to this computer or any of my bookmarks..files etc.  Wow it makes me think what I take for granted everyday.  When I expect my computer to work for me.  Sooo I don't have a picture of my latest project for ya just yet.  Today a new challenge begins at The Wild Flower Patch.  This week we created projects with a glass effect.  I created a stained glass effect that I hope to share with you soon.  In the meantime be sure to check out all the dt projects on The Wild Flower Patch blog.  I hope to be back really soon with my project.

In other news, I am having a recent card featured over on the Nikki Sivilis blog today!!  WOOHOO!  It just happens to be of a Wildflower Patch kid too!  Go check it out..I am excited and honored to be featured today.

Alright I am off to go try and tackle the computer mess.  Hope to be back up and running soon.

***UPDATE***

YAY!  I finally got my card all loaded up...sheesh.  So here it is. Hope you like it.

Wanna see how I did it?
Remember back in the day in art class when you probably took tissue paper and created a sort of collage of paper and it looked like stained glass?  Well, that is what I did to the pot of these flower.  Then I added some glimmer mist and crystal laquer over the top to created a glass effect...
Here are the steps.
Okay so I started piecing some tissue paper over top of the pot part of this digital stamp.
After all the tissue paper was glued down I spayed it with some glimmer mist.  Let that dry then covered this area with the crystal laquer.
Here it is all finished and looking like a glass bowl.  The flowers I colored with Prismacolor pencils and cut out.  Then I glued them over the top added a few pearls and inked the edges. I don't feel like the pictures really do a good job of showing the full effect. Wish I could have captured it better for you to see. I want to do it on a larger scale next time.
Well, there you have it.  My glass effects card for the Wild Flower Patch challenge.  It is a little late...but up at last.  :-)
Happy crafting!  JennK

Welcome the weekend!

Hello friends  Today I would love to share a card I created for the QKR Stampede.  I actually posted this on the QKR Stampede blog yesterday....but I wanted to share about it here too.  I had a lot of fun playing with this stamp and can see many uses for it in the future as well.

The stamp I used is called "flower accent"  and in the preview picture it actually show the stamp being used horizontaly instead of how I turned it vertical.  I really like it both ways.  The papers I used are from Basic Grey. I stamped the image with Momento ink in black then just colored a few places with Prisma color pencils.

Here you can see a closeup of some of the flowers and my sentiment.  I center of my flower was a find in my moms button stash.  Not sure what it was from at one time but, I LOVE it here.

And this is the inside of the card.  Just waiting for a little note to someone dear.

I hope you enjoyed my card I shared today.  I really appreciate you stopping by.  Have a great Weekend!  JennK

Here you can see this FUN image a little closer...

Day 2 of previews...

Welcome back!  Today I want to show you another fun project I created to showcase another digital image coming soon to The Wild Flower Patch.  YAY!!  This time I created a little cover for a game pad of the game dot to dot.  My son and I LOVE to play and I found some pre-made game pads awhile back.  Well, I just came across some the other day and thought, wouldn't it be fun to dress it up for Halloween?!  So that is what I did.  Take a look....
I just love this image and the papers by Nikki Sivilis are some of my favorite too.

I colored her in with Copics.  I used lots of ink on all the edges for some distressed fun.  I also added a little sparkle to the tag with some stickles.
And the inside where all the games will be played....

I will be back tomorrow for the release day.  Be sure to stop back by to see another project.
See ya!  JennK

Somethings missing...

So I have been working on a few layout the past few days.  It has been a little slow going because little monster has been sick with the mystery fever since Monday night.  Of course we go to the doctor and the mystery fever he has had the past 3 days mysteriously vanishes...and then reappears once we are home..grrr.  But he finally seems to be coming out of it.  YAY!  So I decide to take a few moments this morning to look over a layout and decide if I am done or if I want to add more...and something looks off.
AH HA!!
There is actually something missing!  WHAT?!!
Ok so nobody has been in the crafty space since the last time I worked on this..how could something go missing?
Now for a sneaky peek at a the project I am working on for a fun Fall LO Tag team on the Noel Mignon forum..I cannot reveal all the goodness till all the other gals do their projects. But I gotta show you what I am talking about,  So....
Ok see this butterfly....it is suppose to have just a tad bit more to it....So did the parts fly off somewhere???  Am I living in some wonder emporium of a craft room? Hmmmm, very interesting....Look where I found the missing bits.

OK so this is just a little weird.  It even looks like it flew over and is sitting nicely among some papers on my desk.  Silly little butterfly...get back on that layout!

Ok so here is what it is suppose to look like.  And this sweet little flighty fellow is now firmly ( I HOPE) in place by a trusty glue dot.  Still not sure how it managed to get off the page to begin with, but I say it is the magic of Butterflies..heheee!
Thanks for stopping by my crazy little world today.  Happy Craftin'!  JennK

Inspiration Today...

Hello crafty friends.  I finally got a chance to create a layout and even a card using some inspiration from the Noel Mignon blog.  She has several fashion pictures with all types of colors, textures and design just begging to be used for some inspiration.  If you want to see for yourself hop on over to the Noel Mignon blog and get inspired...there is still time to link up your creation too.

So I did it...Here is what it inspired me to create.......

I used up some June Bug papers from Basic Grey.  I really loved this line and have finally used up almost all I had of it.  The little sentiment I got several years back from my LSS but, have no idea who to credit..sorry.

Here are some close up shot..and don't forget you can click on any of the pictures for a larger view.  I cut out a bunch of flowers from a sheet of June Bug paper and added some bling.

I just LOVE these felt embellishments from this line...so CUTE!

Here you can see more of the flowers I cut out and more bling...YUM!

And the fun doesn't stop there!  I also got crafty and created a card....Check it out.

More June Bug paper from Basic Grey.  I cut out this sweet little pup!  Isn't he the cutest?!  The thought bubble is from some journaling stickers by American Crafts.  The Red letters are Adornit.  The stitching I did using my sewing machine.  Poor machine, I think that is all I use it for anymore.   Although come to think of it I did sew a new pillow for my chair just the other day, so I can say I do sew fabric a little bit..LOL!

Thanks for stopping by.  JennK

A few of m y favorite things...

Would have to be Stitching on my craft projects, Yummy ribbon and great papers!  This week over on the Pink Elephant we are creating pages with our favorite colors and embellishments.  I have to admit it is hard for me to pick a favorite color when scrapbooking.  Right now since I don't want Summer to end I would say my favorite colors would be blue, red, orange and yellow. So it worked out great when I came across these great papers from Little Yellow Bicycle.  I decided to create a page with some pictures I recently found on my PHONE!!  Yup, I had forgotten all about the pictures I took of the boys while we were at the lake.  It was a day that I completely spaced out and forgot my camera...so I used my phone.  The pictures for the most part didn't turn out but a few came out good enough and I want to remember the day.  So I am scrapping them anyway.  So on to the page I created.

So as you can see I stitched a circle on the background paper.  All my favorite elements are here, stitching, yummy papers and my colors blue, red, yellow and orange.  Everything I used is from Little Yellow Bicycle except for the Chipboard letter stickers (Paper Studio), ribbon (stash) and the stitching.  The ribbon actually has a LYB (Little Yellow Bicycle) sticker across it...I love the way that turned out.

Fun stitching and some embellishment stickers.

Oh there is all kinds of Yummy going on here!

So what are your favorites?  Let me know here and join in the fun at The Pink Elephant.

Fall already??

I am still really enjoying Summer and am not ready for Fall.  Yes, I love when the crisp fall air arrives and I can take a walk in the middle of the day and not die of heat exhaustion...but, I really LOVE summer!  I know the calendar says today is Sept. 1st..but I am hoping for a few more sunny days before the fall weather begins.

Today over on The Wild Flower Patch we are using Fall colors on our projects.  I created a card with one of my very favorite images Iris.  She is just so wonderful!  I colored her all up in fall colors and used some SEI dill blossom paper I still have in my stash.

The image is colored with Copics.  The flowers are from paper studio and the ribbon...not sure it was in my stash of loose ribbons.

So are you ready for FALL yet?  Come join us at The Wild Flower Patch and use some fall colors in your next project.
Thanks for stopping by today, JennK
